Exercise 1: の (no) or こと (koto)?

Read each sentence carefully and decide whether you should use の (no) or こと (koto)!

  1. 友達が来るを待っています。
    Tomodachi ga kuru ... o matteimasu.
    I am waiting for my friend to come.
  2. ねこが寝ているを見ました。
    Neko ga neteiru ... o mimashita.
    I saw a cat sleeping.
  3. アメリカで勉強するについて、家族と話しました。
    America de benkyō suru ... nitsuite kazoku to hanashimashita.
    I talked with my family about studying in America.
  4. 私の趣味は、絵を描くです。
    Watashi no shumi wa e o kaku ... desu
    My hobby is drawing pictures.
  5. 私は友達が宿題するを手伝いました。
    Watashi wa tomodachi ga shukudai suru ... o tetsudaimashita.
    I helped my friend doing homework.

Exercise 2: Likes and dislikes

Choose the clause that best fits your likes and dislikes. Don’t forget to add either nominalizer!Correct answers will vary, but sample answers are provided.
