betreffend Translation: concerning	Ihren Brief betreffend möchte ich wie folgt antworten. Translation: Concerning your letter, I would like to respond as follows.
bis Translation: until	Ich sage dir bis nächsten Freitag Bescheid. Translation: I will let you know until next Friday.
durch Translation: through, by	Du musst dort vorn durch den Tunnel fahren. Translation: You must drive through the tunnel ahead.
durch Translation: through, by	Die Küste wurde durch die Wellen stark beschädigt. Translation: The coastline has been damaged heavily by the waves.
entlang Translation: along	Lasst uns diesen Pfad entlang gehen. Translation: Let's walk along this path.
für Translation: for, on behalf of	Ich würde alles für dich tun. Translation: I'd do anything for you.
für Translation: for, on behalf of	Da Mark nicht kommen konnte, entschied sein Bruder für ihn. Translation: Because Mark couldn't come, his brother decided on his behalf.
gegen Translation: against, into	Wer möchte gegen mich spielen? Translation: Who wants to play against me?
gegen Translation: against, into	Autsch, ich bin gerade gegen eine Wand gelaufen! Translation: Ouch, I just ran into a wall!
je Translation: per	Die Stadt bekommt je neuen Bürger 500 Euro. Translation: The city receives 500 euros per new citizen.
kontra Translation: against	Es liegen keine Argumente kontra schnellen Ausbau des Bahnhofs vor. Translation: No arguments against a quick expansion of the train station have been presented.
ohne Translation: without	Ihr habt ohne mich keine Chance zu gewinnen. Translation: You've got no chance to win without me.
per Translation: via	Heutzutage schicken wir Nachrichten selten per persönlichen Brief. Translation: Nowadays, we rarely send messages via a personal letter.
pro Translation: in favor of, per	Es gibt zahlreiche Argument pro den Ausbau des Bahnhofs. Translation: There are numerous arguments in favor of the train station expansion.
	Er erhielt 30 Cent pro gefahrenen Kilometer. Translation: He received 30 cents per kilometer driven.
	Note: Pro can take the dative too! The preposition pro can also take the dative case when used with adjectives: Er erhielt 30 Cent pro gefahrenem Kilometer. meaning He received 30 cents per kilometer driven.
um Translation: around	Es liegen keine Argumente kontra schnellen Ausbau des Bahnhofs vor. Translation: No arguments against a quick expansion of the train station have been presented.
via Translation: via	Sie flog nach Japan via die Vereinigten Arabischen Emirate. Translation: She flew to Japan via the United Arab Emirates.
wider Translation: against	Alle nannten mich wider meinen Willen "Hansi". Translation: Everyone called me "Hansi" against my will.
