Activities: “What are the accusative prepositions in German and how to use them?”

Activity 1: Add the accusative preposition

Fill in the gaps with the correct accusative preposition. You need to decide from the context which of the following prepositions fits best. You may use more than one preposition per sentence and some prepositions may be used more than once in the exercise.

  1. Im Kindergarten sind wir oft den Baum herum getanzt.
  2. Max hält eine Rose in der Hand. wen ist sie wohl?
  3. Ich habe gestern Martina ihren Freund gesehen.
  4. Die neue Straße wurde direkt den Wald gebaut.
  5. Wenn ich diese Straße gehe, muss ich immer an dich denken.
  6. Könnten Sie mir bitte nächste Woche Bescheid sagen, ob der Termin passt?
  7. Hast du etwas unseren Chef? Also ich finde ihn nett.

Activity 2: Build a sentence!

In this exercise, you are given a string of words that includes at least one accusative preposition. If put in the right order, this string can make a meaningful sentence. Reorder the words you find to see if you got it right! As a hint, the first word in the sentence has a capital letter and the last word has a period or a question mark. In some cases, more than one order may be possible.
