Activity 1: ‘Ein Tag in der Oper’ (A day at the opera)

Sophie and Luise are getting a behind-the-scenes tour of the famous Semperoper opera house in Dresden before seeing a performance of Mozart’s opera Die Zauberflöte meaning The Magic Flute.

Complete the text with the correct genitive endings and genitive case forms of the articles.

Activity 2: ‘Dativ und Genitiv’ (Dative and genitive)

After the performance, the girls excitedly tell their teacher about their day at the opera. The teacher asks them to write a short article for the school newspaper about their experience. Help Sophia and Luise by changing the colloquial dative case forms to the more formal genitive case to get their narrative ready for publication.
