Nominative (Subject)	Der Hund spielt im Garten. Translation: The dog is playing in the garden.	Die Katze fängt die Maus. Translation: The cat catches the mouse.	Das Schwein liegt auf dem Bode. Translation: The pig is lying on the ground.	Die Hunde schlafen. Translation: The dogs are sleeping.
Accusative (Direct Object)	Das Kind streichelt den Hund. Translation: The child is stroking the dog.	Das Kind streichelt die Katze. Translation: The child is stroking the cat.	Das Kind streichelt das Schwein. Translation: The child is stroking the pig.	Die Kinder streicheln die Hunde. Translation: The children are stroking the dogs.
Dative (Indirect Object)	Ich gebe dem Hund den Ball. Translation: I give the ball to the dog.	Ich gebe der Katze den Ball. Translation: I give the ball to the cat.	Ich gebe dem Schwein den Ball. Translation: I give the ball to the pig.	Wir geben den Hunden Bälle. Translation: We give balls to the dogs.
Genitive (Genitive Attribute)	Das Futter des Hundes ist dort. Translation: The dog’s food is over there.	Das Futter der Katze ist dort. Translation: The cat’s food is over there.	Das Futter des Schweins ist dort. Translation: The pig’s food is over there.	Das Futter der Hunde ist da drüben. Translation: The dogs’ food is over there.
