The following are some common linking verbs in Brazilian Portuguese.

permanecer Translation: to remain | O tempo permanece frio. Translation: The weather remains cold. |

tornar-se Translation: to become | O gato tornou-se o melhor amigo do cachorro. Translation: The cat became the best friend of the dog. |
andar Translation: to be, to go | Ando pensativa. Translation: I am thoughtful. |
