I Spy A Mango Fan!
We had one of the best opportunities to show our presence in the public library market at this year’s PLA in Portland, OR. It was truly an amazing experience, and there was never a dull moment at our booth.
Logistically, this show was an extremely difficult one to plan. Sending 10 Mango Reps across the nation to a place I’ve never been to is one thing, but convincing the Oregon Convention Center that our Mango Smoothies wouldn’t take business away from their own catering companies was quite the challenge! Fortunately, we charmed our way into serving these refreshing mango drinks librarians can’t get enough of!
Every hour we played “I Spy a Mango Fan” where we picked a random attendee wearing one of our badge ribbons as they walked past our booth, redeeming them with a mystery prize. Ribbons displayed “I’m a Mango Fan” to current customers and “I’ve tried Mango” to librarians who are not customers… yet. Winners: we hope you enjoyed your gift!
Besides the details and behind the scenes action, PLA was a great success. In general, trade shows accomplish many sales and marketing goals. Most importantly, we are able to be face-to-face with our customers, which is so valuable to Mango.
To extend our thanks, we threw an after party called the “Mango Lounge” at The Original in Portland’s City Center. Current customers and potential customers were invited to enjoy mango-tini’s and chances to win great prizes. Thanks to everyone who came and we hope you enjoyed yourself!
Be sure to look out for future Mango Lounge events at ALA Annual in Washington DC, June 25-28 Booth# 1637.
