- How do I know if my library offers Mango Languages?
- Mango is available in one in five North American libraries. Visit our library locator tool to find the one closest to you! If your library offers Mango, you can start enjoying the program for free via Remote Access. This means that you can log in from anywhere you receive an internet connection, including your home, work and local wifi hotspots. Contact your librarian to obtain a library card and tell him/her thanks for offering Mango! If your local library does not offer Mango Languages, please feel free to ask your librarian to look into the program. We will be happy to provide further information!
- My library offers Mango Languages! I want to start using the program, so what do I do?
- Please make sure that you are accessing Mango Languages through the link on your library’s website. You will need to log in this way each time that you use Mango. This is done to verify that you are a patron of your specific library. Once you have reached your library’s home page, search for the Mango Languages link. This is generally somewhere in the “References” or “Databases” sections, or in another location where you can find a link to language learning. While all libraries are different, this is usually where it can be found. Once you find the link to Mango, you will be asked to type in your library card bar code. Make sure to enter the numbers without any spaces or dashes to avoid an error. You will have the option to start learning right away as an anonymous user or to create a profile, which will allow you to track your progress and time spent learning each language. If you create a profile, you will receive an activation e-mail with an activation link. This link is to be used only once to activate your account. Every subsequent log in should be through the link on your library’s website. After you complete these simple steps, you should be all set to start language learning with Mango!
- Do I have to be in the library to track my progress?
- No. In order to access Mango Languages, you must click the link from your library’s website each time. This does not require you to be inside the library. You can access it remotely from the comfort of your own home! Once you’ve gone through the library’s site and logged in using the account you created with your e-mail and password, you will be able to track your progress and continue right where you left off each and every time!
